Ryan Gravenberch snubs Manchester United move

Dutch international Ryan Gravenberch has turned down a late loan move from Manchester United and preferred to sign for Liverpool.

The 21-year-old signed for Bayern Munich in the 2022 summer from Ajax, penning down a five year contract with the German Bundesliga champions.

However, the Dutch international has struggled to feature in consecutive first team matches at Bayern, and his move has not been a dream move in the German capital.

Gravenberch only made six starts among his 33 appearances during last season with Bayern, and this term has made just one appearance coming off the bench for six minutes.

Over the last 24 hours, Liverpool have accelerated their interest in the 21-year-old midfielder, with multiple media reporting that the deal is just a matter of time.

Bayern Munich are now expecting to receive an official bid of $32M from Liverpool before they issue a greenlight for the midfielder to travel to Merseyside.

Gravenberch is believed to be eyeing a move to Anfield over Old Trafford as the Dutch believes Liverpool will provide him with more game time as compared to Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolstering his midfield options following the departures of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby keita.

Gravenberch was Jurgen Klopp’s top midfield target last summer, but he ended up choosing Bavaria over Merseyside.

Manchester United on the other side are no longer keen on the midfielder, as they are keen in signing Fiorentina’s Sofyan Ambrabat and Marc Cucurella as a replacement for the injured Luke Shaw.
